MPG Letter Issue #95
Fear Of Success, Fight Of The Night At PFL 😂, Protect Yourself At All Times
Fear Of Success
I’ve seen fighters and people in general who are afraid of failing. It’s natural.
Doing your best, taking a risk and putting yourself out there… it’s hard. Success is never guaranteed.
That’s scary.
You can plan and do everything you can. Even visualize and feel the moment. Or pray for it.
But some days are not your day.
I know some older folks who have serious regrets, don’t let that be you 🫵🏽
There is another side to this coin. Some people are scared of success. It might sound strange, but success can bring a lot of pressure – pressure to keep winning, to live up to a new image, or to deal with the changes success brings to your life.
That’s not too common, but it exists.
My advice? F#&K IT! Try it. You can do it. It won’t be easy. It will be hard. Know that. But belief is the minimum.
Get to action and stay consistent. You’ll get knocked down. Fail forward, pick yourself up, and keep moving.
The great Wayne Gretzky once said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take…”
Fight Of The Night At PFL 😂
Brendan Allen and Marvin Vettori got into a physical altercation at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida. This was after the PFL 8 event on August 16th.
Apparently, Vettori attempted to swing at one of Allen’s teammates, Tuco Tukkos, but missed.
This led to Allen charging at Vettori, swinging and landing a few punches, which escalated into a full-blown fight on the casino floor.
It’s wild, check my IG post above to see it for yourself 👀
At the end of the day, we are fighters. Brendan was protecting his boy. If someone tried to fire on Fluff or one of my close teammates, I would knock their head off their shoulders 💥
Sometimes it is what it is 🤷🏽♂️ Dana roasted the situation though. He said it was the “Fight Of The Night” at the PFL event, further fueling the ongoing rivalry between the UFC and PFL.
Protect Yourself At All Times
Just saw this video where two youngsters were starting an MMA fight. This had to be another country because one tried to touch gloves and then leveled the other boy with a haymaker.
He got his hand raised because of that. Dirty shit. The cheater won.
If I was there, I would’ve made a scene and went off on him and his team. Bad sportsmanship. No honor, no respect.
If you notice, I very rarely touch gloves. I’ll shake hands after but before, it’s KILL TIME.
I’ve seen similar situations happen too many times. But it’s part of the game.
My advice to the young boy who lost and all competitors would be to not touch and protect yourself at all times.
Touch that chin instead 😵
Big Fights This Weekend!!
My teammate and wrestling coach Ryan Loder is in the finals for The Ultimate Fighter. He’s taking on Robert Valentin. Watch him capture the trophy and contract!!
He fights on the main card which starts at 7pm PT on UFC Fight Night. Also on the card, my guy “Slavaclaus” Slava Borschev has a big fight on the undercard vs. James Llontop. Don’t miss it!!
I would parlay them both to make some extra cash. Good luck boyz!!
