Protecting The Kids
The elections are coming. You know what that means. Social media and the news become nothing but propaganda.
Between the negativity and fear-mongering, it’s crucial to protect our kids. Us parents need to be proactive.
Here are some ideas to make sure our own kids aren’t corrupted by the BS.
First, create an open environment at home where your kids feel comfortable discussing what they see online. We know how influential social media can be on a mind that doesn’t know any better.
Doing this can help you guide them through the information rather than letting social media shape their views as intended.
Encourage critical thinking. A skill that most people online lack. Teach them how to question sources and consider different perspectives.
I would also limit screen time to prevent them from being overwhelmed by the never-ending scroll 🙄
Finally, model positive behavior. Focus on kindness, empathy, and constructive conversations to show them a healthy way to engage with the world.
They copy what you do, not what you say.
The Pressure To Perform
The boss man Dana wasn’t thrilled with the last two fights of the UFC Noche card.
So how do us fighters balance the pressure to deliver exciting performances while focusing on winning?
I’ve said it many times now, it’s a cold game.
As much as we want the favor of the bosses, there’s much more at stake for a fighter than just putting on a show. Two checks are better than one. Winning means we keep our job.
I recommend trying to finish your fights. And trust me, we try our best. But some guys are just very hard to put away 😅. We are fighting the cream of the crop.
I’d rather get a W any day of the week. There are exceptions like Tony Ferguson who can lose 8 straight and keep his job.
Other than that, you’re on the hook every time. They can cut you faster than a monkey in a knife fight.
Win > Finish. I’d rather get paid than a pat on the back 💯
Things You Won’t Regret
Saw this dope graphic on Twitter. Here are some things I want to add to this that I believe you won’t regret doing 😊
Spend quality time with loved ones.
Prioritize your health, both physical and mental.
Be kind, even when it’s not expected.
Learn new skills or improve existing ones.
Follow your passion, no matter the obstacles.
Make time for self-reflection and growth.
Help someone in need, even in small ways.
Be honest with yourself and others.
Set boundaries and protect your energy. Say “I love you” more often.
Stay present in the moment instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future.
Take risks that align with your values.
Express gratitude daily.
Embrace vulnerability and authenticity.
Fuel your body right!
I want to emphasize the last point. You all know how serious I am about nutrition and recovery. I’m always on the lookout for the best supplements to keep me performing at my peak.
I’ve been using Onnit Grass Fed Protein for a while now and it’s been a game-changer for me. Whether I’m recovering from a tough training session or just need a clean, high-quality source of protein – Onnit has delivered every time.
My favorite is Mexican Hot Chocolate. I put a cup of grass fed milk, a little alkaline water, and 2 scoops of protein 🔥
